January 2020 Newsletter
Happy New Year, Happy New Decade!
What an amazing year we've had. As I reflect on the milestones we have reached, what comes to mind are the many individuals and businesses who have made it possible. My humble thanks go to all our supporters —the volunteers tirelessly stocking our shelves, our retail partners who provide the inventory, sponsors who underwrite our efforts, donors who help keep our operations running, employees who assist our members every day and our members who use our products to serve the community. Together, we help thousands of our neighbors in need and make a positive impact on our environment by keeping usable products out of landfills. As we enter a new decade, one thing remains constant. We live in a disposable society, and opportunities to provide those usable products to those in need are endless. With your continued partnerships we know we can help thousands more in the coming years.   Wishing you all the very best in 2020!

MCS In The News
Did you catch MCS in the news last month? The unique work we’re doing helping non-profits is catching the attention of our local media. MCS was profiled in an article in the Sun-Sentinel , where two of our charity members who use our services were also mentioned: SOS Children’s Village and Tuff Start. And our very own Buddy Walck was interviewed about the work MCS is doing in our community in a new CBS 4 Miami live segment, Caring for the Community. Watch the segment here .
Giving Tuesday Saves Members Over $20,000
Thanks to the support of LoKation Cares and CBRE , our annual Giving Tuesday event was one of our largest shopping days of the year! Over 90 individuals representing 65 nonprofit groups shopped during the event, saving them over $20,000 on products they need to serve their missions. This year's event, held at our Pompano warehouse on Dec. 3rd, gave MSC members the chance to check off their holiday wish-lists by saving them 50% off already discounted prices on household goods, electronics, clothing and other essential goods and materials.

Your Donation Matters: For every $20 donated, MCS keeps 32lbs of retail products out of landfills and puts them in the hands of nonprofits who need them.

Thank you, Dot and Ruby Helping Hands, for helping families in need in Western Palm Beach County!
Dot and Ruby Helping Hands is a Belle Glade-based food pantry that provides food, clothing and other essential items to people in need in Western Palm Beach County. Thanks to the opening of MCS' West Palm Beach warehouse, Dot and Ruby now have much closer access to obtain these items from MCS. In December, they purchased over 200 bikes and hundreds of toys from MCS at steep discounts. These items were distributed to over 2,000 children in Belle Glade, bringing much-needed Christmas Joy to those families!
Our West Palm Beach warehouse has been essential to many non profits in Palm Beach County. Since opening in August, that warehouse has moved over $120,000 of merchandise, saving Palm Beach County charities over $75,000!
We always need more space to serve our members. If you know of a storage opportunity, please contact Buddy Walck at buddy@morningdaysolutions.org or 954-590-8256.
Volunteer Spotlight: LoKation
Volunteers are what keeps MCS running, and Lokation Real Estate, based in Pompano Beach, has been supporting our mission since day one. When Greg Bales started MCS in 2011, LoKation CEO Nate Klutznick was there to provide some of the initial funding. Since that time, Nate and his associates have consistently volunteered in our warehouses, cataloging and stocking inventory and working our biggest sale events of the year. Lokation Cares has also funded MCS' last two Giving Tuesday events, along with CBRE. It's supporters like this that help us fulfill our mission to help those who help others.

Thank you, LoKation, for making a difference in our community!
