Award-Winning Students
County & State Science Fair Results

Congratulations to our 7th graders Terry H. and Himani M. for their recent accomplishments at the Santa Clara County Science Fair! Both Terry and Himani earned honorable mentions for their projects:
Terry's Project
Robotic Control On Puppets - A First Study On Bionics
Award: Honorable Mention, Physical Science and Engineering Category

Himani's Project
Natural Water Purifier: Using Banana Peels to Remove Lead From Water
Award: Honorable Mention, Physical Science and Engineering Category
Special CONGRATULATIONS to Himani for also being selected to represent Santa Clara County at the State Science Fair in Los Angeles! While she didn't win an award she presented her project very well. She was excited to meet and see all the other enthusiastic science students from all over California. Himani was able to attend seminars and listen to Dr. Frances H. Arnold, a 2018 Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry. It was a tremendous experience for her which has left her wanting to do more and compete in State Fair next year.

We are grateful for Mr. Cho, our 6th grade science teacher, and Mr. Richards, our 7th grade science teacher, for mentoring our Middle School students for the science fair this year.
Middle School Speech Meet

Congratulations to our Middle School Speech Meet team, which presented pieces at the ACSI district meet in Concord on Friday.

As always, MCS did very well this year, bringing home honors and recognition in several categories. The team always works very hard, and it was wonderful to see our students do so well! Good job, everyone!

Dear 7th Grade Parents

Each year the 8th Grade Graduation Committee is hosted by 7th grade parents. This allows our 8th grade parents to sit back and enjoy the graduation festivities.

Graduation will be on Tuesday, June 4th at Christ Community Church at 7:00pm. We need assistance in these areas:

  1. Shopping for food supplies
  2. Shopping for decorations
  3. Decorating on the day of the gradation
  4. Serving on the day of the gradation
  5. Clean up after the graduation ceremony

There will be several different tasks to be shared within the committee. All hours spent can be applied to your annual required Work-Off Hours. If you enjoy event planning and would like to chair the committee, please let me know. Please contact me at your earliest convenience.

Library check-outs will end the week of May 13-17. Students will have the opportunity to preview new books for next year, but will not be able to check them out.

If you have any questions about your student's library books, please email or talk to Miss Urbach before school or after school. If you have looked for your student’s library books at home and you can’t find them, or they are no longer in a usable condition, please contact Miss Urbach for your options for replacing the book or books. Thank you!

Work-Off Hours Opportunity: Help with Library Inventory!
Miss Urbach will be conducting inventory in the library, as well as repairing damaged books, during the week after Memorial Day, and the last few days of the school year. It is a huge job, but not difficult, and she would love some help! Please contact Miss Urbach if you can help. Inventory will begin on Tuesday, May 28th and run through Friday, May 31st, and pick up again Monday, June 3 through Wednesday, June 5.
