Betty's Birthday Success!

We had no idea what to expect when we launched our Betty White campaign in honor of the late star, and animal lover's 100th birthday - but BOY was it a success! We were floored by the messages, phone calls, and overall joy and warmth we received, not to mention the donations to support our shelter ❤

Fundraisers like this can benefit our shelter in so many ways - it could spay + neuter hundreds of animals, fund transports from struggling shelters, treat dogs with heartworm or cats with ringworm and even provide emergency surgery when it's needed most. So, on behalf of the animals you're supporting - THANK YOU!

8 rabbits abandoned in a park in Howell - now looking for homes!

We never know what kind of calls our Animal Control Division will receive. A few weeks ago, it was 8 domestic rabbits who had all been abandoned. Thankfully, a neighbor called us and our team was able to safely recover all of the buns!

Pumpkin Head 🎃

It's a little late for trick or treating but this adolescent deer managed to get his head stuck in a plastic pumpkin bucket! Our Animal Control Division took a call from Eatontown about a deer in distress, so we responded ASAP. With a light sedative and a lot of waiting - we were finally able to safely approach the deer and remove the bucket. We waited on scene until he was able to get up and bound back into the woods! No more sweets for this guy 😊

Fostering Saves Lives!

You'd never know Gizmo used to be a stressed, scared and shut-down shelter dog. All it took was a change of scenery to find out he was an affectionate, gentle, and super smart lap dog ❤ We're always looking for new foster families - email fostering@monmouthcountyspca.org to get started!

Over a foot of snow? Oh no!

With the forecast over this past weekend, our team decided it was best to stay overnight so they could be here in the morning to care for our animals ❤ A few of our animal care attendants and vet techs brought their sleeping bags and comfy clothes and rode out the storm right in our shelter. Could you ask for a more dedicated team?

Felix Update 🐱

Felix was left at the shelter by his owner and was so scared, he'd hide under his bed all day. We knew there was a side of this boy we couldn't see, so we put out a plea on social media and Felix was adopted the next day! He's now living the life of a family pet were he gets lots of love!

Amos Update 🐶

It's been almost 2 years since the Belford hoarding case where 60+ dogs were rescued from living in squalor. We recently got the sweetest update for Amos, who was once a forgotten, neglected dog. Amos now lives a life full of love and affection and was recently in his parent's wedding party, in a tux!
