Matilda Update ❤

We know so many of you donated to support the care of sweet Matilda, a puppy found near death in Neptune just a little over a month ago (You can see her original post here). We were all holding our breath for this girl, she was in such bad shape already on borrowed time - but she was a fighter! Matilda spent some of her most critical hours in our care, but little by little, she started showing signs of improvement. After a few weeks in a medical foster home, Matilda was able to transfer to another foster home so she could gain weight and get her strength back - add in some TLC, and this girl was ready to find her forever home ❤ Matilda was adopted by a good friend and alumni adopter of the shelter, and is now living a loved and spoiled life - like every dog should! Happy life "Tilly" - we love you!

Kitty Highlight: Javi

This boy was found as a stray and had some untreated medical issues - one called Eosinophilic Granuloma Complex, but since starting his steroid treatment, Javi has been responding beautifully! Javi is the sweetest boy who can’t WAIT for you to sit down so he can crawl in your lap, he really just wants love and enjoys every second of attention can get 🥰 Javi is also FIV+, but like any FIV+ kitty can live a perfectly normal life with routine vet visits and an indoor home 🐱 Javi is 7-years-young and could possibly live with other respectful kitties.

We know his conditions may make it tougher for him to find a home, but we hope that special someone can look past them and see him for the gentle, sweet and lovable boy is truly is ❤

Hop, hop - the bunnies don't stop!

It's that time of year, when all the leftover bunnies start showing up and needing homes... you know what we're talking about 🐰 We have almost half a dozen rabbits waiting at our Eatontown shelter for their forever homes SO many, that we had to clear out an entire cat gazebo to house them ❤ Now the bunnies have more space and can be rotated in and out of their cubbies for free-roam and enrichment time 🥕

We're waiving all fees for our rabbits to help them find homes 👍 We have bunnies with all different types of personalities to fit lots of different families ✅ Our counselors are here to guide potential adopters new to bunny ownership and also love working with our experienced adopters!

Our Fabulous Fur Ball!

Oh, what a night to remember ❤ Our largest and most important fundraiser of the year was a huge success! Hosted at the Shadowbrook at Shrewsbury, returning guests and newcomers alike joined in raising lifesaving funds for the animals in our care. This year’s gala honored Fran & Paul Turner and their love for animals and their commitment to supporting animal welfare. The Fur Ball raised over $460,000, a record-breaking event with proceeds that will provide compassionate care to thousands of animals in need this year!

Dinner, dancing, a live & silent auction plus everyone's favorite feature, being able to visit with adoptable puppies and kittens, plus meet some of the pets whose success stories have been made possible by their generous support ❤

Don't Be Sheepish..

This cute little sheep was found stuck inside a fence - her screams sounded like an actual human child according to the person who found her! Thankfully our Animal Control responded promptly and freed her wooley little self ❤ Now named Meryl Sheep, this pretty girl spent her 7-day stray hold with us and then made her way to Allaire Community Farm in Wall where she’ll be loved and spoiled for the rest of her days 🥰

On July 9th from 12pm-9pm, we'll be offering a special promotion of a $90 adoption fee on all cats 9 months and older. All fees on rabbits will also be waived 🐰

It's Baby Season! Full Speed Ahead 🍼

Now is the time of year when we'll see hundreds of wildlife animals every week! Injured, sick, displaced, or simply abandoned by their mother - we're here to take them in ❤ Our Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Howell, along with our licensed rehabilitators, work to get these babies healthy again for release or relocation. We believe that every animal deserves a second chance!

Looking for info 🚨

Early this week, these friendly pitbull-type dogs (male & female) were found abandoned in Assunpink Wildlife Management Area. They had leashes tied on as collars and were near empty bowls. We're looking for any information on who may have abandoned these sweet dogs to fend for themselves on the 6,300 acre property. If you have any info, please call the Humane Law Enforcement Division at 732-440-1539 – tips may remain anonymous.
