MoCo Republican Chair Bryan Christ recently purchased substantial space in the Tomball Magnolia Community Impact publication to spread the same old falsehoods and misinformation that he has spread throughout Montgomery County for years. Many of these oft-repeated statements are easily disproved and are used simply to create fear and disunity in the county. Consider the following statements made by Bryan:
Removing the party chair election from the voters—Texas Republican Party platform plank #248 calls for election by the County Executive Committee. That is from the State Party and not from some nefarious, nondescript “group” that lives in the Chairman's mind! It is also the way that almost every organization in the country operates as opposed to the good-ole-boy technique that Bryan wishes to perpetuate. “They” never address that reality?
Grading Republicans or endorsing one Republican against another—No evidence that this “movement” exists. In fact, Bryan and his wife actually own a business, Southern Heritage Consulting, that prospers financially by doing exactly what he accusers others of doing?
Not allowing some Republicans on the ballot or ending the Primary all together—A figment of Chairman Christ imagination! In fact, the Chairman recently took (unsuccessful) legal action against Republican Precinct Chairs to block them from voting at the 2024 Senate District Caucus. The only result was harassment and expense to the Precinct Chairs, kind-of the opposite of unification!
This became an issue for the Montgomery County Tea Party when Bryan accused MCTP of operating under multiple names and of “dividing the party”. He also attempted to gain credibility by invoking the name of his predecessor, Dr. Wally Wilkerson. The truth is that MCTP is the only outside group that Dr. Wilkerson ever co-sponsored a political event with!
Chairman Christ accused MCTP of being the Freedom Caucus when Republican Freedom Caucus's exist at the National, State and County level just like our Montgomery County Republican Party Freedom Caucus.
Chairman Christ accused MCTP of creating a fake Republican Party, a group of Precinct Chairs that is actually the Majority. This can be proven by comparing the post-split (after 7/23/22) minutes of the Chairman's group of 28 (MCRPTX.org Meeting Minutes) to the Precinct Chairs group of 64 (MCTXGOP.org Meeting Minutes).
Equally disappointing is the fact that Community Impact made no effort to verify that the claims made by Bryan Christ bore any resemblance to the Truth. In fact the editor, Jason Culpepper, stated that they do not review ads for accuracy or truthfulness. Go Figure!
