As a project co-owner, Marina Coast Water District and its partners all worked with Pure Water Monterey to develop the recycled water. This public-private partnership currently provides one-third of all the water needed on the Peninsula and will provide over half of the current water demand when the Pure Water Monterey Expansion project is completed this coming year.

"This is a sustainable, drought-proof supply," noted Remleh Scherzinger, General Manager of Marina Coast Water District. "It is already addressing the water needs of Peninsula residents and businesses today, and it will continue to do so well into the future. We are incredibly proud of what we've achieved by working together."
