Marina Coast Water District celebrated National Night Out at two local events to promote water conservation awareness, share District services, and build relationships with residents by connecting with the community.
Our Conservation and O&M Departments hosted a booth alongside Marina PD at the Public Safety Building where kids had fun trying their luck at the dunk tank, watching folklórico dancers, and high-fiving McGruff the Crime Dog! Our own MCWD utility truck was a hit with kids, especially one dressed up as their favorite truck for the event.
At the CSUMB East Campus Housing event our Customer Service Team was happy to aid Interim Chief of Police Yvonne Gordon who shared upon returning from vacation she found a running toilet in her home.
Staff used the opportunity to demonstrate MCWD's free toilet leak detector dye tablets, which are harmless, colorful tablets designed to help customers identify potential toilet leaks. They walked Chief Gordon through the process of using the tablets to determine whether a leak was present and answered her questions regarding leak detection and water conservation. The team then provided Chief Gordon with customer service cards and invited her to contact the district for additional support.
National Night Out was the perfect venue for the District to answer questions and share tips with Chief Gordon and the public!
