MCWD Partners in Recycled Water With Seaside and Monterey One Water

Marina Coast Water District is proud to partner with Monterey One Water to provide the City of Seaside with millions of gallons of recycled water each year for public golf courses.

Recycled water from MCWD to City of Seaside will:

  • Deliver 132 million gallons of recycled water per year.
  • Replace limited freshwater to irrigate public golf courses.
  • Reduce pumping from the Seaside Basin.
  • Free up groundwater to support future development.
  • Increase opportunities for affordable housing.

The Environmental Protection Agency recently awarded Marina Coast Water District with the Excellence in Site Reuse Award. This award is in recognition of MCWD’s role in developing innovative cleanup initiatives to accelerate the cleanup, transfer, and reuse of the former Fort Ord and boosting economic growth and community revitalization. #reducereuserecycle 

MCWD Offers Incentive to Replace Your Lawn


Rebate Up to $1.50 per sq ft of Old Lawn

Join your neighbors by replacing your turf and get an incentive from Marina Coast Water District. All landscape incentive projects must be preapproved by MCWD before work may proceed. The District offers incentives up to $1.50 per square foot of old lawn and sprinkler replacement when a customer commits to install new, low-water-use landscaping with drip irrigation. Additional incentives are also available for upgrading irrigation controls and installing equipment to reduce water waste.

Join Our Free Workshop on Protecting Your Trees


Thursday, October 27, 2022, 6pm – 7pm

Learn to protect the health of trees during this unprecedented drought. Our workshop includes how to: understand how trees collaborate in the landscape, develop an irrigation strategy for efficiently watering trees, separate irrigation systems for trees planted in grass areas, and develop a successful maintenance practice to ensure survival.
