Governor Hogan Announces Stage One of Roadmap to Recovery

Effective today, Friday, May 15, at 5:00 pm, Maryland will move from a Stay at Home order to a Safer at Home public health advisory.   Marylanders, particularly older and more vulnerable Marylanders, are strongly advised to continue staying home as much as possible. Governor Hogan's 'Maryland Strong: Roadmap to Recovery' provides a flexible and community-based approach which empowers county leaders to make decisions regarding the timing of Stage One reopening in their individual jurisdiction.  Visit the Governor's official webpage for more details. 
HUD Report Highlights MDOD Housing Work

HUD released a publication which highlights the successes of HUD's Section 811 Project Rental Assistance (PRA) Program. It includes an introduction to the program and its core components, and highlights work from its grantee's including one of MDOD's property locations on the Eastern Shore.  You can view the report on

MDOD and MDH Guidance on Hospital Support for People with  Disabilities

MD Department of Disabilities and MD Department of Health  have issued joint guidance regarding access to supports for patients with disabilities in hospitals. Hospitals are directed to create policies to authorize support persons to accompany to, visit, and stay in the hospital with individuals with disabilities.

The Maryland Department of Disabilities is requesting stakeholder input as it works with partner agencies to develop the 2020-2023 State Disabilities Plan. The Department of Disabilities wants to hear from Marylanders with disabilities, families, service providers, and professionals who work with and advocate for people with disabilities.
