Election Update
While the Presidential election results are still up in the air, we do have some answers on Congressional races. In Maryland, incumbents Andy Harris (MD-1) and Kweisi Mfume (MD-7) maintained their seats in Congress. The Senate currently sits at 48 Democrats and 48 Republicans with several races outstanding and a run-off expected in January for one seat in GA. Senator Pat Roberts, Chair of the Agriculture Committee, is retiring leaving that leadership position open. Additionally, Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, narrowly held onto her seat in her run against Democrat Theresa Greenfield.
We know everyone is on the edge of their seats, as are we, for final election results. Just know, regardless of the outcome, we at MGPA will continue to tirelessly represent the best interests of our farmer members!
