Market and Trade Update
Top Five US 2020/2021 Corn Market
- China - 10,549,300 MT
- Mexico - 5,382,700 MT
- Japan - 3,949,700 MT
- Colombia - 1,256,700 MT
- Guatemala - 657,500 MT
This past week Japan purchased 1.832 MMT, China purchased 433.5 TMT, Mexico purchased 377.4 TMT, Taiwan purchased 179.8 TMT, and Israelis bought 157.5 TMT of corn. For sorghum, 208.8 TMT was bought by China and unknown destinations.
Maryland participated in the United States Grain Councils virtual trade team tours last week. Nineteen trade teams made their way across the US virtually to get a better look at the 2020 corn crops and meet with farmers, ethanol plant managers, and more. Read more here.

First Virtual Grain Exchange Boasts More than 1,200 Registrants
The U.S. Grains Council Virtual Grain Exchange kicked off with more than 1,200 registrants, including international buyers and end-users of coarse grains and co-product from 54 countries and members of the US grain export value chain. The online platform allowed attendees to take part in a virtual exhibit hall where they could learn about new advances in technology, crop production and the various businesses that make up the farm-to-freight export chain. Memorandum of Understanding - EPA and MDA
