Top Five US 2020/2021 Corn Market
- China - 10,948,700 MT
- Mexico - 7,517,000 MT
- Japan - 4,795,000 MT
- Colombia - 1,825,900 MT
- South Korea - 732,000 MT
- Unknown Destination - 5,447,400 MT

This past week Japan purchased 203.4 TMT of US corn, China bought 174.7 TMT, Colombia bought 171.7 TMT and Taiwan bough 138 TMT.
Sorghum was sold to Eritrea with 30.6 TMT and China purchasing 87.3 TMT.
Australian wheat yields are being reported. Currently forecasted at 28.91 MT, full article here.
Germany corn harvest is seen up to 10% to about 4.03 million tonnes, more can be found here.
US Grains updated their export map, overall bring a total output from grain trade for Maryland's economy to $165,400,000. Access map here.

2020 National Wheat Yield Contest
The 2020 Contest Winners have been announced. One farmer from PA was awarded 5th in the high yield winter wheat dryland competition with 152.86 bushels to the acre with Pioneer 25R77. This year, the National Wheat Foundation received a record-breaking 418 total entries. Read more here.

Beating Corn Rootworm in 2021
Corn rootworm particularly ravaged conventional cornfields unprotected by traits in 2020. Mainly due to immunity and heavy use of Bt hybrids. More information can be found here.

Manure Injection Good for Bottom Line and Environment
The PA4R Alliance has been working on low-disturbance manure injection and boosting the farmers bottom line. It was found that by putting manure into the ground rather than spreading it onto the surface, ammonia volatilization was drastically reduced. Full article here.
