State of the Bay Report - D+
The Chesapeake Bay Foundation released the 2020 State of the Bay report. The Bay has declined one grade from 2018 and is largely due to ineffective management of the Bay's striped bass population, as opposed to water quality concerns. Millennial Farmer Raises Money for Grain Bin Response

With the year anniversary of losing 11-year old Alex Boesel, his dad, and his uncle in a silo accident, the Millennial Farmer, Zach Johnson took advantage of his platform to assist local fire departments. The campaign raised more than $60,000 dollars, distributing money to 51 volunteer departments. More here.
Countdown Begins for Compliance with GMO Food-Labeling

Four years after the thunder in Congress over labeling goods made the GMO ingredients, the deadline for compliance with the USDA labeling regulation is in sight beginning the end of 2021. Under the rule, food makers have four options for indicating GMO ingredients. One of every six foods containing GMOs may be exempt from labeling. For example, refined sugars and oils from GMO crops are exempt because they do not contain detectable amounts of genetic material. Read the full article here.
GMOs in China and Mexico

China approved two GMO corn varieties for import from Bayer Ag and Syngenta Ag. Strains include MON87411 and MZIR098. More here.

Mexico is to meet and decide if GMO corn ban will apply to animal feed as GMO corn was been banned for food production. Read more here.
