Future farm brewery owners in Harford County wouldn't be required to live on the property, but they'll have to brew more than a third of their product on the premises within three years of launching, under two amendments the County Council passed to pending brewery legislation. The latest action is part of a large campaign by NCGA to demonstrate the benefits of ethanol to policymakers. When it comes to fuel price concerns, ethanol currently costs less per gallon than gasoline, so blending more ethanol lowers fuel prices while also reducing greenhouse gas emissions. More here.

Maryland Grain Producers Association has partnered with the National Corn Growers Association to offer a single application for both scholarships! NCGA has three scholarship applications open for students in the following categories:

The MGPA scholarship is open to students enrolled in two year vocational schools or four-year universities seeking agricultural related degrees. Applicants families must be involved in grain production and members of MGPA.

The Farm Credit Foundation for Agricultural Advancement is kicking off its 2021-2022 scholarship program. High school seniors and students enrolled in two/four year higher education programs with plans to pursue a career in the agriculture industry are eligible to apply by January 7th.
