2021 Maryland Commodity Classic
Our annual event is taking place on July 22nd starting at 9:00 AM.

Come by the Queen Anne's County 4-H Park to hear the latest research, interact with friends, discover the most recent Dr. Miller Awardee and scholarship recipients, and enjoy Bob Farmer, a comedian!

Please register online prior to our event, here!

Tickets are $10 before 2:30 PM or $20 after 2:30 PM. There will be no entry after 3:30 PM. Please pre-purchase tickets if possible.

Be sure to bring cash for lunch and snow cones!

MDA 2021 Pesticide Disposal Program
The Pesticide Disposal Program collects any product with an EPA or USDA registration number or any substance that can be identified as a pesticide. To participate, farmers are asked to fill out the registration form by September 15th. This program is free to farmers and we encourage you to take advantage of this to dispose of unused or unusable pesticides. Learn more here.
MDA Annual Pesticide Container Recycling Program
2021 dates and drop-off locations for its annual recycling program have been announced. You can participate for free by delivering rinsed containers on the appropriate day, which can be found here. Learn more here.

Farm Subsidy Transparent Act Introduced
The bill would require USDA to track and publicly disclose the race and gender of all individuals and entities who directly or indirectly receive benefits from programs under the commodity, conservation, and forestry titles of the farm bill and from the Commodity Credit Corporation. 2021 Maryland Grain Referendum
A referendum to continue the Maryland Grain Checkoff Program is currently open to individuals that produce grain or own land which grain is produced. Ballots must be postmarked by July 22, 2021. If you did not receive a ballot, you can request one by calling 443-262-8491. You can also vote in person at the annual Commodity Classic until 1:00 PM. Click here to learn more.

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack announced additional aid to agricultural producers/businesses as part of the USDA Pandemic Assistance for Producers initiative. A total of $11B has been allocated to AG producers and businesses. Read more here.
