Please see this letter just distributed by the Maryland Department of Health (MDH) regarding the recent security incident and its impact on provider operations. As we reported on Monday, and as has been reported in the media, the MDH website was compromised in a cyberattack over the weekend. Yesterday HFAM inquired with MDH to inquire about whether the incident would impact payments to skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers and other providers. Today, MDH issued the attached guidance. MDH continues to navigate operations with an abundance of caution as the investigation surrounding the cyberattack is ongoing.
