About the Movie
House of Dynamite is the latest film from director Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty). It’s a fast-paced political thriller that follows the chaos and confusion after an unexpected missile launch, and the people racing to figure out who’s behind it. It parallels the plot of the bestselling book “Nuclear War: A Scenario” by Annie Jacobson.
It’s intense, emotional, and full of moral questions about nuclear weapons, power, responsibility, and truth. Perfect for a night of reflection and conversation.

ACA health insurance subsidies
A Teach-In
from Senior Disability Action and National Single Payer
Dear Single Payer Supporter:
Register below to receive the Zoom link.
At our last Teach-In, we learned how the U.S. health care patchwork arrangement "Is Not Normal." We asked participants to figure out just how much they would save by using the Household Savings Calculator.
Please use the calculator before the next Teach-In so we can compare savings among participants. Also, make sure to bring a friend!
We will be doing a deep dive into the Exchange health insurance subsidies. Where do they come from? What are they? Should they be extended or ended?
How do single payer activists react to the current government deadlock? Cut off Exchange subsidies for 20 million individuals and their families and keep subsidizing corporations profiting from government largesse? Or stop corporations from feeding at the government trough but make even meager health insurance more unaffordable?
In 2022, health insurance companies offering plans through the Exchanges made $20 billion. If the subsidies are extended permanently, the price tag, according to the Congressional Budget Office, will be closer to $28billion per year.
There is a solution: we protect the little we have but raise the demand for a national, single payer, improved Medicare for all, free from profit. Want to learn how to achieve this? Join us!

"At last, at last, Jews with powerful voices have gathered en masse — a critical mass, I would say — to condemn Israel and the savage spree of murder, starvation and terror it inflicts as we speak upon the Palestinians of Gaza and the Occupied Territories of the West Bank.
You may by now be aware of the open letter signed by 450–plus American, European and Israeli Jews and made public this week. In it, this sprawling group of distinguished personages denounces the criminality of the Zionist regime and asserts “the universality of justice and the fair and equal application of international law.” The signatories also call for the international community to impose immediate sanctions on apartheid Israel."

World BEYOND War has
a DIVESTMENT campaign!
About the Campaign
Grassroots-led war divestment campaigns are springing up all over the world, from students organizing to divest university endowments, to municipalities and states coming together to divest public pension funds. Divestment means organizing to remove public and private assets from weapons manufacturers, military contractors, and war profiteers.
Public pension and retirement funds especially are often invested, directly and indirectly, in weapons companies. Teachers and other public servants whose interests lie with promoting human needs have their retirement security tied up with maintaining or enlarging the war industry. Every dollar currently invested in weapons and war is a dollar that could be better spent on job creation, education, housing, healthcare, food security, and so much more.
War profiteering is largely normalized today. We’re working to stigmatize the war machine. World BEYOND War assists divestment campaigns led by our chapters, affiliates, other coalitions, and individuals around the world.
