We are excited to offer a free online workshop with our friends from
IMPACT:Ability!
In this class you will learn skills to help manage your stress and strong emotions, how to communicate with others in a healthy way, and how to set and respect healthy boundaries. This class will use video, role play, and discussion to help teach these skills in the most interactive way possible through a virtual format.

Happy 24th birthday to April Lucia! It's t
ough being quarantined, but April had a wonderful day! She received gifts delivered on the porch from family and friends. Her auntie made her a home made cake. And, she got to FaceTime both of her brothers and cousins and “Zoom” with her Aunt and Uncle!
|
|

MDSC Facebook page- Happy Birthday to Grace Carroll of Martha's Vineyard who turned 19 last week! She celebrated her birthday with the largest car parade on the Vineyard so far!

The MDSC team is continually updating

Considerations for your child's future

Our May AIM Parent Info session will welcome Leo Rotman, Certified Financial Planner of River Financial Group, LLC. Open to any parent of a child with Down syndrome, ages 13 to 22!
How do I make sure my child can have the life I want for them?
This workshop offers a holistic perspective on benefit programs, ways to bridge funding gaps, and legal considerations. Leo is a parent of a child with special needs and brings a unique perspective including personal and professional experience to working with special needs children and adults, and their families.

Other resources of interest:
- William James College has released a special audio series, Managing Anxiety (for Caregivers). Dr. Julie L. Ryan, associate professor of Clinical Psychology and director of the Children and Families of Adversity and Resilience Concentration, and Dr. Nadja Reilly, clinical psychologist and associate director of the Freedman Center for Child and Family Development offer tips for caregivers on managing their own anxiety, and their child's anxiety, during this stressful time. Clips are presented in short segments of around 2-3 minutes each, and can be listened to as a series or by topic. Find the playlist and listen here.
