SPARKS KICKOFF

Today was the kickoff of our Sparks programming, spearheaded by Rabbi Joey Haber. After a speech by the Rabbi, the boys and their Rabbis got acquainted over breakfast. Throughout the year, in  conjunction  with the GEMS and Roses program for the girls, our boys meet with their Sparks Rabbis to check in and focus on becoming stronger in a specific area. This year's theme is the Ten Commandments.

STUDENT ACTIVITIES FAIR!

On Wednesday, we held our annual Student Activities Fair, led by Rabbi Ikey Tawil and Ms. Lynn Keda. After browsing through the comprehensive pamphlet featuring all the clubs and programs offered, students heard from Mr. Charles Anteby, who spoke to them of the importance of being involved and how it enhances your life as well as those around you. Next, we heard from Mrs. Gina Abadi, newly elected Civil Court Judge, who is continuing to run our Mock Trial Team. She spoke to the kids about how her experience in Mock Trial as a student at MDYHS shaped her decision to pursue a career in law! Students will be able to choose the clubs they'd like to participate in weekly.

COMPOUNDS IN CHEMISTRY
In Mr. Siris's 10th grade Chemistry class, students learned about  substances and mixtures, elements and compounds, and separating liquids from solids, classifying them by color and shape.
