Welcome to the Birthday Book Club!

We are off to an amazing school year!
MECE uses the Procare app for contactless sign in and out. You should have received an invitation to set up your child's account. Returning families may find they need to log out and log back in. Please contact us with any questions.
Carline: Please refer to the carline postcard provided to you for your drop off and pick up location. You may also find the carline videos helpful. You will find that our line moves quickly and children get out of cars happily (usually) when the carline greeter opens the door and helps the child out. Please remain in your car and wish your child a great day, do not get out of your car. The greeter will be happy to help the child, and carry any large items you might be dropping off. Be sure to have the color-coded carline sign in your dashboard. This helps the greeter greet your child by name and make sure they arrive at the right classroom. Please refrain from talking on your cell phone during carline.
The Twos class is the only class that parents walk their children in, please refer to the postcard to be sure you are coming on the church property from Mizner to avoid cutting across the other traffic lanes.
If you need to pick up your child early, please do so before 11:50 to avoid the carline traffic.
We are still in need of carline greeters. Please email me if you are interested.
Snack: Be sure to send in a healthy snack for your child daily in a gallon sized Ziploc bag labeled with their first and last name (or returning families may already have the MECE snack bag). You will get the bag back everyday so you can provide snack in it again and again. Please be sure to check the calendar provided by your teacher to be aware of any allergies in your class. In the case of a severe allergy in the class, you will not be allowed to send in products containing the allergen. Also, please avoid sending in choking hazard foods (such as popcorn) or be sure to cut them up. For example grapes are cut longways so they no longer are a choking hazard.
The Palm Beach Health Department requires that all water bottles, lunch boxes, etc. be labeled with a child's first and last name. I recommend you order Mabel's Labels for reliable stick on labels. Be sure to indicate MECE as the organization you are supporting.
T-Shirt for sale-Every MECE student received a complimentary T-shirt, if you would like to purchase another one, just let us know. Preschool blue shirts are $10 and are available in size XS (2-4), Small (6-8) or Medium (10-12). Kindergarten red collared shirts are $15 and are offered in small or medium.

The Boca Raton Police Services Department reminds you to bring belongings WITH you when you pick up your child at your day care facility. Each day parents and caregivers fall victim to auto burglary when belongings such as purses, laptops, and personal electronic devices are left behind during child pickup. Parents Morning Out (PMO) is open 5 days per week from 9-noon! Get more information and sign up on the church's website. They are currently hiring for another staff member to add a second room. Please let me know if you are interested.

The purpose of the MECE Parent Association is to build a strong community among our pre-School and kindergarten parents; support the teachers and staff; and to raise funds to support the school. All parents of MECE students are members of the Parent Association. The MECE Parent Association plans numerous events and opportunities for parents to get involved and participate in the MECE Parent Association, thereby directly supporting the school and our children. |

Welcome Breakfast
Join us Wednesday, September 8th, at 9:00 am in the Gathering Place for a light breakfast and coffee. You'll meet other families from your class and the school, and hear about some of the things the Parent Association does for the school.
Parent Association Meeting
It's our kickoff meeting! Join us Wednesday, September 15th at 9 am in the Center Room located upstairs in the MECE Building. If you signed up to be a Room Parent, we'll have a folder for you with all of the information you need on your duties and responsibilities. We will be discussing the budget, bookfair, family night out and the auction.
Family Night Out
Join us at 5 Guys in Boca Raton on September 15th, for dinner from 4-8pm. Tell your friends, neighbors and family! You can also share the flyer on social media. Stay for dine in or takeout and 5 Guys will donate 30% back to MECE!
Barnes and Noble Book Fair
The book fair is always a fun time for children and parents alike! We'll have story time by MECE teachers, a scavenger hunt and there are some amazing treats in the cafe! You'll be able to purchase new books handpicked by teachers to donate to the classroom. Maybe you'll pick up that new novel you'll have time to read while the kids are in school, and you can even start your Christmas shopping! The bookfair is Sunday, September 26th, 2021 from 12-3pm at Barnes and Noble in Boca Raton.

Fun-filled art experiences for kids through online art classes, private small group classes and workshops, and parties where we can create together!
Classes are small to give individual attention and to give the opportunity to share with each other. I focus on process over product to allow kids to become engaged in their own creativity and create with freedom and develop a healthy creative habit!
