Social Skills

Thank you so much to Stephanie Rasel for her wonderful presentation on teaching the children about identifying their feelings, exploring their emotions, and how to recognize them and know it's okay make mistakes. We hope you will attend her workshops for parents as well.

Thank you to Erin Dhaveloose and Jill Smith for the nurse program. Our children learned the importance of washing their hands, covering their coughs, going to the doctor and medicine safety .

Lemonade Stand

Miss Gina, Miss Rachel and Miss Susan's classes made lemonade during L week. Everyone in the school got to earn a ticket for a glass by doing an act of kindness during K week. It was just delicious!!

Fun Run

Thank you Wendy McEvoy and all the parents that helped out, for organizing the Fun Run this year. Everyone had a great time doing the warm-up exercises, running around the parking lot and all the great healthy snacks.

Professional Development Day

On Saturday, January 25th the teachers participated in a 6 hour Professional Development Day. The focus was on Daring Classrooms and Cultural Competence. Thank you Stephanie Rasel for sharing your knowledge and expertise in with the teachers. We've starting calling Stephane Rasel Dazzle!

Registration update: Many classes are already full. We still have limited openings in our Junior Threes, 4 day Threes, and 5 day Threes. You can get three free Lunch Bunches by referring friends to MECE. Just ask us for a voucher if needed and if that family registers they hand it in to us.

Please update contact information if needed. During our recent registration we noticed that many people didn't add a second guardian or authorized pick up persons. In some cases a name was added but no phone number or email address. It is necessary to have the emergency contact numbers just in case. A unique email is needed for each person who will access the carline app on their own device. Please take a moment and look at your account at Myprocare.com. Then send any new contact information to us via email.

Each student brought home a progress report in January. Your child's teacher will do another assessment and discuss your student's progress with you at a Parent Teacher Conference on April 30. You will be able to sign for a specific time for a conference through sign up genius beginning April 1.

Many of MECE's students go on to Private schools or gifted programs. The teachers invest a lot of time and energy in correctly completing the needed evaluation forms, so please submit needed forms in a timely

fashion.

Summer Camp

"Exploring God's World"

Camp Registration will begin

Monday, March 3. Registration will take place online (like school registration did in January). Look for an information sheet in your child's backpack regarding the details. Camp will run for 4 weeks-

June 16, June 23, July 7, and July 14 from 9 am -2 pm.

The registration fee is $50, tuition is $200 per week (must attend a minimum of two weeks). If registering siblings that aren't already on your MyProcare account, please email us their name, birthdate, and gender.

Enrichments

We still have openings in a few Enrichments. Please let us know if you want to add your child: Wiggle and Praise on Tuesdays, 6 Bricks on Wednesdays and Art on Fridays. Miss Catherine, Miss Sharon, Miss Helene and Miss Holli's students can still sign up for Little STEAMers with Miss Sharon on Fridays.

FUMC Worship Schedule

FUMC offers a Contemporary Service at 9:30 in the Gathering Place. Sunday School is provided for children ages 3 and up. There is also a Traditional service at 11 am in the Sanctuary.

The purpose of the MECE Parent Association is to build a strong community among our pre-School and kindergarten parents; support the teachers and staff; and to raise funds to support the school. All parents of MECE students are members of the Parent Association. The MECE Parent Association plans numerous events and opportunities for parents to get involved and participate in the MECE Parent Association, thereby directly supporting the school and our children.

Bright Star Christmas Pageant Video

We are still waiting for the Christmas Pageant video from the videographer. It should be here any day and we will email a link to those families that purchased a copy. There is still time to purchase email us for the link.

Square 1 Art

This past couple of weeks your children have created some beautiful pieces of artwork with their own hands. Square 1 Art sells items with the children’s art on it and gives a % back to MECE. Look out for a flyer coming home with more details in March. Thank you, Dana da Silva, Nadia Pines, Carlee Pagani, and

all of our parent volunteers that came out to the playground to help us capture handprints!

Fun Run

Thank you to Wendy McEvoy for planning an amazing MECE Fun Run this year!! Parents and children both had a great time chatting, dancing, exercising, tackling obstacles courses, playing yard games and running a lap at our MECE Fun Run. The day was so memorable!!

Family Fun Day

Mark your calendar!! MECE’s Wild West Adventure is Saturday, February 22 from 2-5pm. You don’t want to miss this fun activity-packed day featuring pony rides, DJ, arts and crafts, kids game corner, face painting, bouncy bull rides and hobby-horse races. Chick-fil-A and Kona Ice will be there also! Thank you

to Nicole Stewart for her hard work getting things set up for us to enjoy the day. Look out for a save the

date followed by a flyer coming home in the backpacks soon! Volunteers are needed for the day of the

event to help guide kids games and the check in process. Admission is $15 per adult and $10 per child 2

and up (infants free). All MECE family admission bracelets include a Chick-fil-A meal, generously sponsored by the Thomas family (advance purchase required.)

Auction

It’s that time of year again! The Parent Associations Family Fun Day and Annual Auction! February 22nd from 2-5pm join us at MECE for fun and to check out the auction items! Bidding will begin on February 19th and end after Family Fun Day on February 22nd! Check out the link now for items as they get uploaded. Each class, teachers and many local business have generously donated to help the PA raise funds to support MECE’s needs. Follow the link below to check out the items and register to bid! Teacher Appreciation Week

In April, we will be celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week. We do

something special for the teachers each day of the week. Kristen McElwee has once again generously volunteered her time to plan and execute the week. The teachers are so grateful for this week each year and especially the volunteers that make it happen. If you’d like to help plan or donate a service or gift,
