120 students in grades 9-12, will be recognized on Thursday, June 14, for their academic success and good citizenship. Recipients of the Rochester Children’s Scholarship Fund (RCSF) receive financial stipends during the school year if they maintain a grade point average of 3.25 or better. With this financial support, students are able to purchase items such as graphing calculators, books, and art supplies as well as participate in field trips, work fewer hours during the school year, and save for college.

With a 100 percent high school graduation rate, nearly all RCSF graduates go on to pursue higher education. RCSF believes that with the support it provides, these exemplary students can achieve even more in their education and look to a successful future.

Rochester Children’s Scholarship Fund was initially established in 1916 as the Rochester Memorial Children’s Fund when students found it necessary to go to work to help with family finances. The fund provided financial support to students as a means of keeping them in the educational system. It also served as a living memorial to those serving in World War I.
