The annual track meet helps students learn the importance of hard work, team building, cooperation, school spirit and sportsmanship. Thursday’s event is a simultaneous track meet that will take place at the above four locations. Elementary students will participate in the long jump, high jump, 200m run, 4 x 100 relay, 50m dash, and softball throws.
Students and staff have honored Nick Zona during an annual track meet in the District for more than 40 years. Zona was known as one of the area’s top football coaches, and he was honored as one of the country’s top athletic directors. During his time in the Rochester City School District, he spent his career helping athletes and served as Section V president from 1962-65.
