NEW YORK, NY--  Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 27, 2018, Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez, Chair of the Transportation Committee, will hold an oversight hearing to review sidewalk and curb legislation pertaining to pedestrian safety, beautification and reporting efforts by the NYC Department of Transportation (DOT). The Committee on Transportation will hear testimony on 11 pieces of legislation relating to curbs and sidewalks, with a focus on driveway curb cuts. Three of Chair Rodriguez's bills will be heard including, Intro 327, which would require the DOT to establish a curb extensions program to identify intersections where extensions may be implemented to enhance pedestrian safety, and implement at least five curb extensions per borough per year.
