WHY:
This is the second in a series of summits designed to consider progress and action benchmarks of the 2017 Louisiana coastal master plan.

This summit will look at progress made to date and will discuss what the research agenda might look like for the next decade. Opportunities will be explored for transitional and innovative projects that can be privately funded and complementary to larger scale parish and state restoration efforts.

At the summit, we will announce the launch of the Louisiana Coastal Exchange (LCX), an inventory and reporting of coastal restoration projects in partnership with NGOs and private sector companies that have been completed or that are planned and available for funding. In Louisiana, projects listed on the LCX must be consistent with the state's coastal master plan.

SUMMIT HOSTS AND SPONSORS:
America's WETLAND Foundation
Louisiana's Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority
Louisiana Sea Grant
Chevron
BHP for their support of the Louisiana Coastal Exchange and the Terrebonne Biodiversity and Resiliency Projects.

The initiative is supported by a growing coalition of world, national and state conservation and environmental organizations and has drawn private support from businesses that see wetlands protection as a key to economic growth.
