THE ARLINGTON CHAMBER PRESENTS ARLINGTON CHAMBER VOLUNTEER DAY
Featuring Virtual Kickoff with Congressman Don Beyer
|
ARLINGTON, Va -
For 21 years, the Arlington Chamber has been proud to host Arlington Chamber Volunteer Day, an annual tradition that engages businesses and individuals in rewarding half-day service projects. Due to COVID-19, the needs of the Arlington community have drastically changed and been redefined, and it is important that the community comes together to find ways to support each other. For this reason, the Chamber created a new format for our annual Arlington Chamber Volunteer Day to meet the current needs of our nonprofits, who've been especially hard-hit.
This year, the event will take place with a virtual kickoff on Tuesday, April 21 at 12:00 p.m., and will feature Congressman Don Beyer who will be giving remarks. Following the kickoff, businesses will volunteer for the nonprofit project that they selected from
1:00-4:00 p.m.
The projects provided are in accordance with the CDC guidelines to ensure that participants are practicing social distancing. Projects range from creating a video of yourself reading a children's story or writing a letter to a senior citizen to securing goods for families experiencing homelessness.
Media attendance at the virtual kickoff is encouraged, but advance confirmation is requested. To attend, please contact Communications Coordinator Morgan Mentzer at
communications@arlingtonchamber.org
who will send the registration details, including the link to the kickoff.
