Washington Heights Electeds Call on City Agencies to Address Conditions at 71 Vermilyea Ave. After Destructive Fire

 

Washington Heights, NY--  HAPPENING NOW, Friday, August 23, Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez, staff members from the office of Assemblywoman Carmen De la Rosa, tenants, and community residents are onsite at 71 Vermilyea Ave. meeting with tenants regarding conditions in their apartments after a Two-Alarm fire caused major destruction in many of the units they occupy. Among the many hazardous conditions in the building, tenants have woken up to crumbling ceilings and floors.

 

The Electeds have been calling for the appropriate City Agencies to respond to this situation and immediately start addressing the many life-threatening issues facing tenants at 71 Vermilyea Ave.
