The Keeping the Blues Alive Foundation, in collaboration with the Distillery Restaurant, and various corporate and individual contributors were able to raise $10,000 dollars to outfit a music room at School No. 58. This will allow the City School District to bring culturally relevant, modern band professional learning to the District for free.

The Keeping the Blues Alive Foundation was founded by guitar superstar Joe Bonamassa, and he has held fundraisers in Rochester to benefit music students/programs in the District. The Keeping the Blues Alive Foundation has donated over $230,000 dollars in music education and scholarships through more than 300 music programs in all 50 states.

A room dedication will take place on Tuesday, August 21st at 10 a.m. Instruments and equipment will be on display, and a music group will put on a brief performance.
