ARCHITECT OF AFRICAN BURIAL GROUND MONUMENT JOINS ELECTED OFFICIALS ON BLACK SOLIDARITY DAY TO CONDEMN RACIST VANDALISM

NEW YORK-- Monday, November 5,  Rodney Leon, architect of the African Burial Ground Monument in Lower Manhattan, will be joined by Majority Leader Laurie A. Cumbo, Council Member Jumaane D. Williams, Black, Latino/a, and Asian Caucus Co-Chairs Council Members I. Daneek Miller and Ydanis Rodriguez, Council Member Margaret Chin, and a coalition of elected and community leaders to respond to the racist act of vandalism at the site this past Thursday. This call for unity and strength comes on Black Solidarity Day.
