NEW YORK, NY-- Tuesday, November 13,  2018, the Committee on For-Hire Vehicles will hold a hearing to vote on several pieces of legislation related to the Taxi & Limousine Commission, including Intro-304 (Rodriguez), to establish a taskforce to study the sales prices of taxi-cab medallions. The taskforce will include nine members with varying degrees of expertise or experience related to the taxi-cab industry and city entities. The objective of the taskforce is to evaluate the changes in the for-hire vehicle economy by reviewing past and future sales prices of taxi-cab medallions and provide recommendations six months after the formation of the taskforce. The study will also focus on how the fluctuation in the sales prices of the medallions affects the city's budget. More information can be found here.
