The OACES culinary program, an adult vocational workforce preparation program in the Rochester City School District, has placed over 150 graduates into jobs.
The purpose of this dinner is to celebrate the achievements of the students who have graduated from the program. Most of them are high school dropouts or have overcome trauma in their lives including; domestic violence, incarceration, and/or drug abuse.
Dinner will be served at the "Hart Street Cafe" which has served over 12,500 meals this school year. Nineteen current students of the program will be preparing food for alumni and their families.
Kip Palmer, CEO of Palmer Foods and an OACES culinary advisory board member, will be the guest speaker. He will talk about the importance of the OACES program and how it impacts the community and vocational workforce training.
