As the Rochester City School District prepares to open its doors to students on Wednesday, September 4, many schools are holding back-to-school events. Please see story opportunities below for events on Thursday, August 29:
Clara Barton School No. 2 Back-to-School Orientation
Students will have an opportunity to meet their teachers and tour the school building. Highlights include a bounce house, haircuts, Foodlink demonstrations, food, uniform vendors, raffles, prizes, book bags, school supplies, and representatives from local libraries, Boy/Girl Scouts, Center for Youth, and the YMCA.
Enrico Fermi School No. 17 Back-to-School Bash
Students and families will celebrate the start of the school year with a block party. Highlights include free music, food, haircuts, resource booths, and more
Pinnacle School No. 35 Back-to-School Bash
Students and families will gather on the playground for a back-to-school bash. Highlights include free food, haircuts, and school supplies; demonstrations from local businesses; an opportunity to meet teachers; conversations with Councilman Malik Evans regarding city park spaces; and safety practices on a yellow school bus.
Mary McLeod Bethune School No. 45 Backpack Giveaway
At this third annual event, students will receive free book bags and school supplies. Highlights include free food and clothing, live music, games, a bounce house, airbrushed t-shirts, face painting, and more.
