Seniors at Integrated Arts and Technology High School have immersed themselves in a year-long Capstone Action Research Project, as part of their participation in government and economics class. The Rotary Club of Victor-Farmington is awarding up to $500 dollars in scholarship money to 8 students for their dedication to implementing “Gandhian” principles in their community. The scholarship money is dedicated to helping students achieve their goals.
Student projects have included a unique internship at Genesee Country Museum, where one student took Blacksmith classes in order to further his growth and understanding of this valuable trade. Other students will be awarded for their fundraising efforts to help children who were rescued from backbreaking work in brickyards to attend a school in India.
Another student was given the opportunity to take an introductory flight class and actually fly a plane. He will now continue his dream of becoming a certified pilot.
