Transfer of Flags Ceremony Has Been
Annual Tradition for 130 Years

DETAILS:
President Van Henri White and Deputy Superintendent Dr. Cecilia Griffin Golden will welcome students and guests at the annual celebration that shines a light on some of the brightest students from every school in the Rochester City School District.

Student representatives, called "Standard Bearers," are chosen for their outstanding academic achievement and demonstrated citizenship. The first "Transfer of Flags" ceremony was proposed in 1889 by Captain Henry Lomb, one of the founders of Bausch & Lomb. Please see the official program for additional details.
