CSF’s Chris Horton to Testify on Rigs-to-Reefs Bill in the House



On January 13th, the House Natural Resources Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources will hold a hearing on the Marine Fisheries Habitat Protection Act, a bill to facilitate the conversion of offshore energy infrastructure to permanent artificial reefs. CSF’s Chris Horton will testify in favor of the bill on behalf of recreational anglers and divers who highly value the benefits of oil and gas platforms as popular fishing destinations.

CSF Leads Cross-Sector Coalition Push for Senate Action on the Fix Our Forests Act



On December 5, 2025, the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation submitted a letter to Senate leadership from a coalition of 45 organizations representing forest industry, state forestry agencies, sportsmen and women, and other conservation organizations, which encouraged them to schedule floor time for the Fix Our Forests Act.

Camo at the Capitol: Wisconsin Sportsmen and Women Gather to Advocate for Sporting-Conservation Policies

The Idaho Fish and Game Commission voted unanimously in their November meeting to adopt a series of regulations on emergent technology, which now heads to the legislature for debate in the 2026 session before it is codified into law.

CSF Mourns the Passing of the Founder of the CSC and CSF, Former Congressman Richard T. "Dick" Schulze 


Congressman Schulze died peacefully at his home on December 23, 2025, at the age of 96, with his wife of 33 years Nancy Schulze at his side. A veteran and patriot who served in both the U.S. Merchant Marine and the U.S. Army, Dick Schulze was a successful businessman, an elected official at the state and federal levels, a conservationist, and an avid outdoorsman whose life was defined by service to country and community.
