Hinton honored with Volunteer Service Award during annual Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County Golf for Homes event

On August 21, Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County hosted its annual Golf for Homes event at the Battleground Country Club in Manalapan. The event, held during the Great American Solar Eclipse, was the most successful golf outing Habitat in Monmouth has ever held. The event also honored, current Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County board member and former Fair Haven Mayor and Councilman, David Hinton.

Hinton was awarded the Volunteer Service Award for his continued work with the organization. Since 2010, he has served in a variety of roles from the construction site to serving as the organization's treasurer. Presently, David oversees the construction operations that includes new home constructions, A Brush with Kindness, Ramps and Rails and other programs that help low-moderate income homeowners throughout the service area maintain safe and affordable housing. He also serves on the board of Red Bank based, Lunch Break. Now retired, David spent over 40 years in the steel industry, he currently resides in Little Silver with his wife Harriet.

Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County (HFHMC), serving Northeast and Western Monmouth County, is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity with the mission to put God's love into action. The organization brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope and a vision of realizing a decent place to live. HFHMC seeks to eliminate sub-standard housing and help low-income families achieve the dream of homeownership throughout its service area.
