Venice Theatre announces auditions for Troupe in a Trunk outreach program
Venice, FL, October, 19, 2016 - Auditions for Venice Theatre's "Troupe in a Trunk" spring tour will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the theatre located at 140 W. Tampa Ave. on the island in Venice. Venice Theatre's Education and Outreach Assistant Director, Kelly Duyn, is looking for four adults to play roles in Diamonds or Toads. Actors unable to come to auditions on this date, can schedule a private audition.
Actors Cara Herman, Kathryn Killinger, Ruth Shaulis and Gary Seddon along with a few enthusiastic students  take part in a Troupe in the Trunk performance.
Kelly Duyn and Sandy Davisson have adapted Diamonds or Toads from a traditional folktale. The story (and a larger lesson) is told through humor and audience participation. "Troupe in a Trunk" always teaches a lesson. This year's is,"Be mindful of the words we speak, for they can hurt."

About Troupe in a Trunk
In its 24th year, "Troupe in Trunk" is an outreach program of Venice Theatre. With a minimum of set pieces, costumes and makeup, "Troupe" brings live performances to Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte County elementary schools to expose young students to theatre, stimulate their imaginations, and create a bridge to the performing arts.
