FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: FEBRUARY 4, 2022
HDGH Welcomes Back Designated Care Partners

WINDSOR, ON – Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare (HDGH) continues to maintain the safety of our patients, families, staff, and physicians as our highest priority. Visitation at HDGH has been modified to protect our patients, clients, and community. The following visitation guidelines are in effect:

Complex Medical Care and Rehab Units

  • Effective Wednesday, February 9th, 2022 HDGH will welcome back our Designated Care Partners (DCP) in a staged approach. Each patient may identify 1 DCP at this time.
  • Visiting hours are between 10:00 am – 7:00 pm
  • All DCPs must be fully vaccinated (evidencing 14 days have passed since their second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine), and provide the enhanced proof of vaccine QR Code along with a valid photo ID that confirms identity.
  • All DCPs must wear the Personal Protective Equipment supplied by the hospital while in the hospital and in the patient’s room
  • If the patient is under enhanced precautions or has tested positive for COVID-19 no DCP’s will be allowed.

At this time, HDGH is unable to welcome back DCPs to 3North which still remains in Outbreak. We are hopeful that this outbreak will be rescinded in the upcoming weeks. We are committed to further updates as they become available.

End of Life Care
  • Patients who require end-of-life (palliative) care and who are actively dying as defined by the clinical team may have up to four (4) visitors present at any given time.
  • These individuals will be required to stay in the room, wearing a visor and mask at all times.

Toldo Neurobehavioural Unit (TNI)
  • A patient can have one person at a time, pending managerial approval.
  • This visitor must be fully vaccinated (evidencing 14 days have passed since their second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine), and wear the PPE supplied by the hospital
  • Visiting hours will be during the time blocks of 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday - Friday with an additional time from 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. on weekends and holidays.

All individuals will be screened for signs and symptoms of illness, including COVID-19, before every entry into the hospital. Individuals with signs or symptoms of illness, as well as those in self-isolation or quarantine, shall not be granted entry. Individuals are required to practice proper hand hygiene.

As HDGH continues to monitor COVID-19 cases both at HDGH and in the community, HDGH reserves the right to amend visitation as needed.
