The annual football tailgate party is quickly approaching! Register by September 6 to join in the fun. This family-friend
ly pre-game tailgate event for students, alumni, and faculty will be hosted by MEM and
PriSim Business War Games.
There will be food, drinks, and games! The tailgate is free to attend. MEM faculty, alumni, and guests interested in going to the game can also request game tickets through the registration link for $20 per person. Attend IEEE AI Conference and Chicago Ideas Week
The MEM community is invited to attend events in September and October
Northwestern MEM is sponsoring the IEEE Women in Engineering AI Leadership Summit, taking place Friday, September 20 in Naperville. Join women leaders and innovators to learn about AI technologies, applications, how to build AI solutions, and to understand the ethical complications of AI. Women and men are welcome to attend.

Chicago Ideas Week is back with over 150 engaging programs, most of which take place October 12-17. Chicago Ideas movement believes that when a broad spectrum of thinkers and instigators share ideas, we have the power to change our world. This is Chicago's idea festival for everyone, and MEM has a limited amount of tickets to distribute. Check out the
exciting schedule of programs, then use the
registration form to make a request for a ticket. Requests will be taken on a first come, first served basis and are limited to 1 per student/alumni, so check it out today!

MEM Analytics Workshops
Get an intro to Python, SQL, and Visualization tools at this 3-part workshop
MEM is organizing 3 workshops over 3 days to cover introductory basics on popular tools and skills in the world of data science - including Python, SQL, and Visualization tools. These will be hosted in the McCormick Education Center Krebs classroom on September 17, 18, and 19 from 6:30 - 9:30 pm and taught by IEMS PhD student Daniel Duque.

Host a Lunch 'n' Learn at Your Company
Be the bridge to future generations of MEM graduates
Have your colleagues expressed interest in what you've learned from MEM and applied at work? Have you wanted to refer someone to the program but aren't sure exactly how? Or maybe you know someone who wants more information but hasn't been able to make it to an MEM information session? Now you can help promote MEM at your office by hosting a Lunch 'n' Learn.
In its simplest terms, a "Lunch 'n' Learn" is an MEM information session which is held over the noon hour at your company location. The content and lunch are both provided by MEM.
Over half of admitted applicants reported learning of the MEM program from a work colleague, alum, or current student. Join us in spreading the word about MEM!

Gabrielle D'Anna is a part-time MEM student who hails from Staten Island, New York. Working as a Validation Engineer-II at Hu-Friedy Manufacturing Company, she often takes concepts learned in evening MEM courses and applies them at work the very next day. She is using the MEM program to build a strong foundation for strategic thinking, in order to pursue leadership opportunities. In 2018,
Val Marchevsky (MEM '08) was named Vice President of Engineering at Verifone, a financial services company that strives to consistently solve the most complex payment challenges. In his role, Marchevsky leads hardware, firmware and software development for an extensive portfolio of payment terminals. It's a job that requires a wide variety of skills - skills that he developed or strengthened during his time in Northwestern's Master of Engineering Management program.
