Professor John Rogers - 40th Anniversary Keynote Speaker
|
 |
In celebration of our
40th Anniversary, MEM has invited Professor John Rogers to give the keynote address titled "
Soft Electronics for the Human Body - Some Perspectives on the Science and the Commercial Opportunities
". His talk will be a part of a larger celebration including a reception and networking dinner on the evening of Saturday, June 30, 2018.
Similar to the idea that an MEM degree is at the intersection of business, engineering, and technology - Professor Rogers has developed new commercial innovations for wearable technologies. He recently collaborated with a broad collection of partners including Gatorade, the Seattle Mariners, the U.S. Air Force and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab to bring his
wearable microfluidic sweat analytics system into widespread distribution.
The Rogers Lab at Northwestern University has also designed and manufactured the soft, flexible bio-integrated lab. This next generation of wearable technology has been featured in the Modern Museum of Art (MoMA) in New York. With skin-like properties, the lab captures, features, and analyzes the chemistry of sweat, with wireless connectivity View the video below to learn more.
We look forward to seeing you in June at the 40th Anniversary! The registration process for the MEM 40th Anniversary will soon be active on the MEM website.
Special IEEE TEMSCON Invitation: For those who might be interested, IEEE will be hosting a conference on engineering management in Evanston the same weekend as the 40th Anniversary. The IEEE TEMSCON conference is scheduled for June 28-30. Registration is now open with a reduced rate for the Orrington hotel in Evanston.
