Master of Engineering Management Celebrates 40th Anniversary
Over 100 students, alumni, faculty, and industry guests attended

Northwestern University's Master of Engineering Management (MEM) Program celebrated its 40th Anniversary on
Saturday, June 30,
2018
with a networking dinner and keynote speaker to recognize the students, alumni, and companies who value the importance of education at the intersection of engineering and business.
Current students, alumni, and industry guests were invited to join the celebration and hear keynote speaker,
Professor John Rogers, discuss his work on "Soft Electronics for the Human Body - Some Perspectives on the Science and the Commercial Opportunities".

MEM / PriSim Business War Games Plan Tailgate for September 8
Students, alumni, and faculty are invited for annual tradition
Kick-off the fall by networking with current MEM students, alumni, and faculty at the annual football tailgate! The family friendly pre-game tailgate event will be hosted by MEM and PriSim Business War Games. The event will take place on:
Date - Saturday, September 8th 2018
Time - 9:00 to 11:00 am (Game starts at 11:00 am)
There will be coffee, bagels, burgers, drinks, and games! MEM students, faculty, and alumni interested in going to the game (NU vs. Duke) can also request game tickets through the registration link. Wear purple! Bring your game face, we hope to see you there!

MEM congratulates Alumna and Industry Advisory Board Member Christine Schyvinck for being recognized as one of Chicago's leading women in technology. Christine is currently the CEO of Shure Inc. and has been involved with MEM for many years, including the keynote speaker at our MEM Industry Night in 2017.
"An engineer who got her start on the factory floor, Schyvinck rose to the top at Shure, one of Chicago's largest and oldest privately held tech companies. As CEO, she's tapped into a deep
legacy of innovation

Samar Emami
is the Commercialization Manager at
USG
based out of Chicago who attends MEM program part-time. Iranian by birth, Samar hails from Tehran where she completed her Bachelors and Masters degree in Materials Science & Engineering. She then did her Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Utah. She is regular at the gym and enjoys running and playing volleyball her free time. From what we've learned she's great at planning trips thanks to her organized demeanor and her passion for traveling.

Rebeca Khorzad
, originally from San Cristobal de las Casas, Mexico, is a '05 alum of the Northwestern MEM program. She also holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), Mexico. She currently works as a Performance Improvement Leader at
Northwestern Medicine
and in her spare time practices classical Salsa and Ballet. Rebeca loves everything with dark chocolate and her kids say she's really creative in preparing breakfasts.
