MEM Welcomes New Students
Nearly 40 Students Attend MEM New Student Orientation
In early September, MEM welcomed 39 new students with a full-day orientation, which consisted of a campus tour, a program overview, leadership activities, and the annual New Student Welcome Dinner! MEM is extremely excited to have these incoming students join the Wildcat family!
The demographics for the current MEM student body have also been updated. The program is 70% part-time, 30% full-time, and the average work experience is again close to the 8-year average seen in recent years. Students come from a diverse base of companies such as USG, Sargent & Lundy, NVIDIA, Northrop Grumman, among several others. Furthermore, the full-time international students join the program from countries including China, India, Kazakhstan, Mexico, and Pakistan.

Welcome Lauren Jones to MEM Family
Lauren will be replacing Diane Kessler, who is Retiring in October
|
MEM New Program Assistant, Lauren Jones |
MEM welcomed Lauren Jones as a new member to our staff in early September, and we wanted to provide the opportunity to learn more about her! Lauren is an Evanston native, and she attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and graduated with a Psychology degree in 2012. She first worked at Northwestern as an Administrative Assistant at the Office for Research Safety from 2013 until 2016, when she got the chance to pursue a longtime dream of living and traveling in Europe. She taught English to young students for a year in a small school in the south of France. Now she has returned to work at Northwestern and as much as she loved the views of the Pyrenees mountains, she is happy to be back near lake Michigan. Come talk to her about books, movies, and vegan cuisine.
As you already know, Diane Kessler, a pillar of support to MEM students, faculty, and alumni for the past 17 years, will be retiring on October 6. MEM is hosting a reception for Diane on Monday, October 2 from 4:00-6:00 PM in the MEM classroom suite. If you are interested in attending, please email
stephen-tilley@northwestern.edu.
Please feel free to reach out to
Diane
directly to send your best wishes!
