SKINNY MAN - Male, 20's - 60's; Caucasian, must be over 6'9", extremely tall and skinny. We are looking for someone who is very good with movement. This is a featured principal role with no dialogue.
Currently scheduled to shoot in MA for several days between 7/11 and 8/16.

BASICS OF ACTING

All Levels [18+] Basics of Acting 6 Week Class Mondays, 8:00pm-10:00pm Bates Wilder $269.00 STARTING JUNE 12 [NO CLASS JULY 3rd]
This is and introductory course suitable for those with no prior training or exposure to acting techniques, or for anyone who is interested in exploring acting as a powerful and enjoyable means of self-expression. Acting is the ability to behave believably under imaginary circumstances -- Through a series of structured off-camera exercises devised to work with and develop an actor's skills in the areas of imagination, listening, concentration, focus, and response - you will begin to learn this ability. Acting is a craft, and learning the components of an acting technique take time and practice! You are on your feet in every class, participating in each exercise - developing confidence and developing an understanding of the Basics of Acting!
Actor in film, television and stage. Bates Wilder has been a professional actor for almost 30 years now. He's worked in Boston, New York, and Hollywood as an award winning stage actor (2007 IRNE award for Best Actor in Boston, and 2008 IRNE award for Best Supporting Actor in Boston). He also appeared in the critically acclaimed, Waiting for Godot with Austin Pendelton.
In film Bates has appeared in many day player roles and has been honored to do scene work with some of the following talented actors, Chris Walken in "Maiden Heist", Christopher Reeves in "The Last Ferry Home", Richard Gere in "Hachiko", Benjamin Barnes in "Valediction" , Amanda Peat, Ethan Hawke and Mark Ruffalo in "What Doesn't Kill You", Mark Ruffalo, Leonardo Decaprio in "Shutter Island", Lawrence Fishburne in "Mystic River", as well as Pat Morita and Hilary Swank in "The Next Karate Kid". It is also worth mentioning, that Bates had an integral role in the multiple award-winning and independent film festival winning, "Replacement Child". In Television, Bates was best known for his recurring role as the hapless, ne'er-do-well brother-in-law for three seasons on Showtime's "Brotherhood". Rounding off Bates accomplishments in the acting business, he has appeared in countless local and national commercials playing a wide range of characters from the goofy and obscure, to the poignant and dramatic, and many others in-between.

SCRIPT & CHARACTER BREAKDOWN

Intermediate [18+] Script and Character Breakdown 6 Week Class Mondays, 6:00pm-8:00pm Bates Wilder $299.00 STARTING JUNE 12 [NO CLASS JULY 3rd]
Using contemporary film and TV material students will develop the acting skills needed to better understand the elements of script and character breakdown. This off-camera workshop is designed so that students work every week on learning practical tools for working with a scene partner, and working alone on a monologue. As a teacher, Bates looks for students strengths and challenges in order to design individual exercises that help create complete characters and acting moments.
The class is designed for:
- Beginning Actors who have studied the basics and are ready to work with scripted material
- Aspiring Actors interested in learning how to interpret scripts and develop a character

AUDITIONING FOR TV & FILM

C.P. Casting has cast dozens of TV pilots, TV episodes, TV movies and feature films. Kyle Crand is the one behind the camera and behind the scenes before, during AND after you audition! Get the tools you need to improve your audition performance. Each class will cover different genres that will be discussed at the top of the class. Then actors will live-audition in class with pre-assigned scripts.
What happens AFTER you leave the audition room? As a group, we will watch the auditions and the instructor will give feedback with a collaborative class discussion. From the TV pilot through the sitcom to the drama and the TV movie to the speaking role in a feature film. What are the differences between each, and how to show the ones watching your audition that YOU are the best actor for the job!

This advanced on-camera auditioning class is designed to deepen the craft and technique of actors who are currently out in the professional world auditioning and working in film and television. Using longer and more challenging scenes, you will learn what needs to be memorized and when you can use your page. Learn to re-define yourself as the storyteller, not the "reader of lines." How to tell the story and live fully with minimal movement, and to react from what you HEAR, not what you say.
These days shows are faster paced and you must keep up in the audition room!
