MERIT ABS Excavating Ltd. is doing a great job of raising awareness for the autism community with their uniquely designed skid steer.
After owning and operating ABS Excavating Ltd. for a number of years, Austin Wur wanted to give back to the community that has done so much for him. As Austin’s brother, Kevin Wur, is on the Autism Spectrum, Autism Services of Saskatoon was the perfect organization to partner with. ABS Excavating Ltd. came up with the ABS Autism Awareness Campaign where they wrapped a skid steer in the autism logo – puzzle pieces. A portion of the hours the puzzle piece skid steer runs is donated to Autism Services of Saskatoon.
Autism Services of Saskatoon is a Non-Profit organization that has family programs which focus on supporting the autistic community by organizing fun outings such as bowling and swimming for individuals on the spectrum to participate in. In April they also host an annual Gatsby Night which ABS Excavating Ltd. is a big supporter of.
The ABS Autism Awareness Campaign also encourages other companies to donate to Autism Services of Saskatoon. Companies who donate to this fund will have their company logos added to the puzzle piece skid steer. In 2018, ABS Excavating Ltd. added 10 logos to their skid steer from companies who had contributed to spreading awareness about autism. For more information or to donate yourself, please contact Emily at ABS Excavating Ltd. emily.absexcavating@gmail.com.
MERIT is proud to support companies like ABS Excavating Ltd. that are finding creative ways to give back to the community!
