Wednesday, February 15 - Principal's Coffee Talk

There is a very special coffee talk this coming Tuesday, February 15th at 8am! Our featured speaker will be Howard Middle School Principal Tekeshia Hollis, who will share more information about 6th grade and our students’ transition to middle school. Even though Principal Hollis stopped by as a surprise at our last coffee talk, she has much more information to share about the 6th grade and middle school experience at Howard. Even if you have a child in the younger grades, we encourage you to attend to learn about our wonderful Midtown Cluster middle school and all that it has to offer for the students. After our featured speaker, Principal Sofianos will also share the latest updates for the remaining 62 days of school between February 15th and May 26th.

This coffee talk will also be livestreamed on the MES YouTube page, and the recording will also be available there afterwards.

As always, you can catch up on everything MES straight from Principal Sofianos by bookmarking her Principal's Blog and checking back often!

Dolphins DID Good!!

Every MES student and more than 50 parents & caregivers pitched in for a joint Dolphins Do Good & No Place For Hate program last week. Following a No Place For Hate classroom lesson led by MES counselor, Ms. Deal, many hands (25 student/adult volunteers!) made light work during an after-school sorting event to prepare for the school-wide volunteer project.

Then, to kick off the Global Play Day, parent volunteers pitched in while students created 825 comfort bags, which will be distributed by Crossroads Community Ministry.

Excellent work MES Community!!

Now Accepting Submissions For MES Waves - Create Your Own Path

What make a great VIDEO submission?

WAVES LOVES to highlight your skills with editing and a video! Last year included a student duet with herself, dominos, singing, ventriloquy, a comedy routine and so much more. You can use your skills to show technical skills and editing, the best take of your talents, or create a world unavailable on our stage. Show us what you can do! The only limit is our five-minute timeline and rated G material. MES can’t have a phenomenal show without YOUR student’s hidden talents.

Please either fill out the physical permission form in the front office and submit your video files to [email protected] or use this online permission form to submit your visual masterpiece!

Tours of East Rock Springs Building

We are beginning our tour season of our East Rock Springs home building! For each date offered, tours will be held at 8:30 and 10:00 for groups of 20 for each time slot. Tours will begin at the front entrance on Dolphin Drive. Please note that parking is limited! Signups for tours can be found HERE.
