FALL FOOD DRIVE
ALL THIS WEEK!

|
It's time for MESA's annual food drive for Our Daily Bread, Mansfield's food pantry. If you can, please send non-perishable, unexpired food items to school with your student(s) this week. Each classroom has its own collection box. Below is a list of suggested items by grade.
Your contributions make a big difference for local families during the holiday season!
The pantry has an ample supply of canned vegetables (except corn), canned fruit, and chicken noodle soup and does not need these items at this time. Please do not send candy.

Suggested Donations by Grade
Kindergarten: Ramen noodles, pancake mix and syrup, canned protein items (SPAM, Corned Beef Hash, Vienna Sausage, Sloppy Joe), packs of applesauce cups
Grade 1: Brand-name cereals (please no jumbo or double packs), full-size boxes of kid-friendly snacks (Goldfish, Cheez-its, granola bars, cookies, etc.)
Grade 2: Progresso soups (other than chicken noodle), jelly (plastic jars please), canned corn, salad dressings, croutons
Grades 3, 4, 5: Chef Boyardee canned pasta (beef ravioli, SpaghettiOs), canned corn, brand-name cereal (please no jumbo or double packs), full-size boxes of kid-friendly snacks, Hormel Dinty Moore microwavable meal kits, baking mixes (brownies, muffins, etc.)

Your donation funds MESA programs and events like books fairs, yearbooks, field days, in-school field trips, 1 Book 1 Grade, Bookworms, teacher grants, teacher appreciation dinners, and more!
Our yearly budget breaks down to approximately $35 a student, but donations of ANY AMOUNT are appreciated and MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

WAYS & MEANS CO-VP NEEDED! |
Ways & Means is the board position responsible for fundraising. Fundraising is essential to everything MESA does, therefore, the MESA Board has found that the need for an additional Ways & Means Board Member! We need this support to help oversee our 3 Flagship Fundraisers, our continuous and evolving smaller fundraisers, and any new opportunities for MESA. Please consider helping us make this significant adjustment!

Mark your calendars, our next Takeout Tuesday is October 25 at Jake 'n Joes in Foxboro. This offer is good for lunch and dinner, dine in or take out!
Please see the flyer for important instructions on how to flag your check for our fundraiser. Checks must be flagged in order for Jake 'n Joes to donate 20% of sales to MESA!

Boo Someone this Halloween!!! |
There is still time to book a "Boo" sign rental from Sign Gypsies! Surprise your kids or gift a Boo to a friend or family member while raising money for MESA.
It is a super fun way to spread Fall and Halloween joy for all ages!

J/J and Robinson students have been working hard to create artwork for you. Square1Art allows you to celebrate your child's artistic achievement by ordering timeless keepsakes you can cherish for years to come.
Their art will be coming home soon on a personalized catalog! Keep an eye out for it in their backpack. We will also share ordering information here in this newsletter when it becomes available in November!

MESA is the non-profit parent organization of the Robinson and Jordan/Jackson elementary schools. We facilitate fundraising, enrichment, and community building fun for our schools and students.
We are always looking for help, new ideas and involvement!

Get your CORI Check Checked off your to-do list! |
|
If you plan to volunteer at MESA events, you must have a valid CORI on file with Mansfield Public Schools - it's state law.
Getting a CORI check is fast and easy. Simply fill out the form that was sent home at the start of school and return it to your child's classroom teacher, along with a copy of your photo ID.
Please note, you must submit a CORI to MPS even if you have a CORI through your employer, a local sports organization, etc.
