Help Needed for 5th Grade Photo Booth
|
|
Parents of 5th Graders! We are holding a 5th Grade Photo Booth this Friday, March 31st from 8:30am-2pm at J/J! We need volunteers to help make this a success.
Volunteers help set up and take down, organize the props between classes, get kids to loosen up and pose/be silly, and of course, take photos with a phone or camera!
We did this for the first time last year and it was a fun day!
Photos will be featured in the J/J Yearbook as a multi-page spread.
Please email [email protected] if you can help! We have a tentative schedule for classes and can let you know the time your class may be there so you can plan for the morning or afternoon. (It’s a half day at Robinson so feel free to bring any siblings with you.)

It may be hard to believe, but it's time to start planning for the 2023-24 MESA Board.
Please join us at our next board meeting, Monday, April 3 at 7pm in the Robinson Cafeteria to learn about the open positions.

MESA is run entirely by volunteers. Whether you work full-time, part-time or are a stay-at-home parent, we could use your help!
We are looking to fill our Accounts Payable Treasurer position. Read this week's MESA Spotlight to learn more about the role.
|
|
We will be introducing you to our board and committee members over the next few months! Meet MESA's Accounts Payable Treasurer, Jennifer Petrangelo
|
Hi, My name is Jennifer Petrangelo and I am the current Accounts Payable Treasurer for MESA.
I have been a volunteer for MESA for the past six years and have served on the MESA Board for the past four years. I served for two years as the Co VP for the Robinson School and two years in my current role as the Accounts Payable Treasurer. Some of my favorite events are the Teacher Appreciation Dinners, Spring Fling, Bookworms and Book Fairs.
I’m originally from Mansfield and moved back in 2006 to raise a family with my husband Fran. We have two sons in 5th grade, Anthony and Joseph age 11. We enjoy traveling and participating in various youth sports in Mansfield.
This is my last year on the Board as my sons will be attending QMS in the fall.
Some of the main responsibilities of the role are:
- work with the Board to establish our yearly budget
- attend our monthly Board and General meetings
- run monthly Treasury Reports and provide budget updates to event Chairs
- make purchases and/ or process reimbursements for expenses for MESA events
- pay the administrative expenses for MESA
- issue Teacher and Principal Grant checks
- track our expenses and purchases on our budget software
- keep accurate records of our purchases and expenses
It is so enjoyable to spend time and be connected to the schools, but one of the best parts about this role is that many of these tasks can be completed from home. Please contact me if you are interested in learning more about this very rewarding role at: [email protected]

Join us on Friday, May 12th at the Guild in Pawtucket for a fun night of live music & dancing, food trucks & desserts and some
amazing auction items and raffle prizes! All proceeds go to programs that support
students and teachers in Robinson & Jordan/Jackson Elementary Schools.
|
|
The MESA Spring Fling raises money to fund critical enrichment activities and programs
not covered by the Mansfield Elementary school budget for the two elementary schools. This includes literacy programs, in-school field trips, teacher appreciation, teacher grants, school improvement initiatives, and much more. In addition, funding supports school social events like the Kindergarten Social, 5th Grade Graduation Celebration, and Hornet Harvest.

Purchasing your tickets online saves you $10 and helps us plan a better event for you!
Online ticket sales will end May 5th. Tickets at the door will be sold for $60.

MESA is the non-profit parent organization of the Robinson and Jordan/Jackson elementary schools. We facilitate fundraising, enrichment, and community building fun for our schools and students. If you have a student at Robinson or J/J, you are automatically a member of MESA.
We are always looking for help, new ideas and involvement!
