Happy Thanksgiving!
It's a short week, but we have A LOT happening in the coming weeks. Please read this newsletter carefully for important information on Square1Art, Robinson and J/J book fairs, and the return of teacher dinners. Plus, our holiday drive for West Side Benevolent Circle continues with two ways you can help Mansfield families in need this holiday season. Read on to learn more!

An important update on Square1Art:
J/J student artwork catalogs have finally arrived and are being distributed to teachers today, so you should receive it before Thanksgiving break! The catalogs contain your Art Access Code which you can use to locate your student's artwork online.
You can also use the online search tool to locate your student's artwork:
**If the search yields no results, try omitting the student's first name.***
Orders are online only and will be shipped to your home.
Shipping is FREE on orders over $75

Students will visit the book fair with their class and families will have the opportunity to shop during parent-teacher conferences.
Book fair proceeds will be used to purchase books and technology updates for students & the schools.
Below you will find information about volunteering at the fair, setting up your eWallet, and donating to MESA's eWallet Giving Fund.

Volunteer at the Fair!
There are still a few volunteer slots available at the Robinson Book Fair, but there are many opportunities still available to volunteer at the J/J book fair. Volunteers are key to ensuring the book fairs run smoothly. We need help with setup and cleanup. We also need help to staff the fair during class visits and Open to the Public hours. Children are welcome when you volunteer!

Make sure you have a valid CORI on file!
All volunteers must have a valid CORI form on file with Mansfield Public Schools - it's state law. Getting a CORI check is easy. Simply send the completed form (linked below) and a photocopy of your photo ID to

Please note, you must submit a CORI to MPS even if you have a CORI through your employer, a local sports organization, etc.

Set Up Your eWallet Today! |
An eWallet is a safe, cashless way for students to shop at the book fair. Simply use the link below to fund your student's eWallet before the fair. Anyone can add money to the account, so share the link with relatives.
After the Fair, your remaining eWallet balance becomes a gift card to shop online with Scholastic or to fund a future eWallet.

Due to its overwhelming success last year, MESA’S Scholastic Book Fair eWallet Giving Fund is back!!! This is a way many of our families can give back by contributing where there may be a need.
Each book fair will have an eWallet account to be utilized at the discretion of the teachers and the volunteer chairs. Any amount left in the account at the end of the fair will be treated like Scholastic Dollars, and used in the same manner: Scholastic Dollars fund programs like Bookworms and One Book One Grade, and they also cover purchases for each teacher’s classroom library.

ROBINSON TEACHER APPRECIATION DINNER
MESA is excited for the return of our traditional teacher appreciation dinners during parent-teacher conferences. We've had to do things a little differently the past two years because of COVID, but will once again be offering a full dinner to teachers to enjoy during evening conferences this fall.

We are looking for donations of side items, beverages, centerpieces and paper products. Please see the SignUp Genius for more information and to sign up.

MESA is pleased to partner with West Side Benevolent Circle again this year to collect items for Mansfield families in need during the holiday season.
There are two ways to help:

Adopt a Family
Now - December 2
MESA is sponsoring several children as part of West Side's holiday drive. There are still a few items left on the children's wishlists. Please use the SignUp Genius link below if you would like to purchase an item from a child's wishlist. The SignUp Genius has instructions on how to mark donations so they get to the correct family.
Donations should be dropped off at Barrows Insurance Agency (215 N. Main Street) by Friday, December 2.

Clothing Drive
Now - December 2
We are also collecting winter hats, gloves, mittens, socks, and underwear for West Side through Friday, December 2.
Each item should be new with tags attached.
All sizes are needed for these items. Please include sizes for older kids as well.
Collection bins are located at the entrances to each school.

J/J Yearbook Classroom Photographers Needed |
J/J parents: We are looking for a few volunteers to help take photos in classrooms for this year's yearbook. No fancy cameras or skills required - your cell phone is all you need.

Join the MESA Board
MESA needs volunteers to fill two board positions
|

VP for J/J - Our current VP had to step down unexpectedly. This position coordinates directly with the principals at Jordan/Jackson on MESA programming and events.

Accounts Payable Treasurer - MESA is looking for a new treasurer to join the board for the 2023-24 school year. It may seem early, but identifying a treasurer now will give the person time to learn the ropes from our current treasurers.

MESA is the non-profit parent organization of the Robinson and Jordan/Jackson elementary schools. We facilitate fundraising, enrichment, and community building fun for our schools and students.
We are always looking for help, new ideas and involvement!
