Takeout

Tuesday

Our December Takeout Tuesday

is tomorrow!

Visit ANY Bertucci's on December 12 for lunch or dinner and 15% of the proceeds will be donated to MESA.

This offer is good at ALL Bertucci's locations, so share the flyer with friends and family!

Scholastic Book Fairs This Week at

Robinson and Jordan/Jackson

Open to the Public:

ROB Gym: Tuesday 12/12 from 1:00 to 8:00pm

ROB Gym: Wednesday 12/13 from 1:00 to 3:30pm

J/J Multi-purpose room: Thursday 12/14 from 12:00 to 8:00pm

J/J Multi-purpose room: Friday 12/15 from 12:00 to 3:00pm

Families are invited to shop at our book fairs this week during parent-teacher conferences.

Please enter the schools through the visitor entrances. Visitors must bring a photo ID. School staff will check you in and provide you with a sticker badge.

Please note that CLASSES WILL NOT VISIT the book fairs during school this fall (they will in the spring), but families can use this opportunity to build their home library! We have a huge selection of books, so you can find something for every reader in the family. Books make great holiday gifts! Also, check out the teachers' wish bins if you would like to purchase a book for your child's classroom library. We accept cash, credit card and checks made payable to Mansfield Elementary Schools Association.

Profits from the book fairs are used to purchase books and technology updates for students and our schools. Thank you for your support!

Questions? Check out the book fair flyer or newsletter for more info

Fall Conference Dinners

We are still looking for volunteers and contributions for our conference dinners this week. MESA provides a buffet dinner for our amazing staff to make a long day/night of parent-teacher conferences a little easier.

The dinners will be held:

Tuesday, December 12 at Robinson

and Thursday, December 14 at J/J

.

We are looking for donations of side items, beverages, centerpieces and paper products. We also need people to help with setup, serving and breakdown. Please see the SignUpGenius for more information and to sign up.

A few quick yearbook updates from our committees:

J/J students have spoken! The J/J Yearbook Committee thought it would be fun to give J/J students a say in choosing this year's yearbook design. We narrowed the cover choices down to four and then let J/J students vote. The timing of the vote lined up perfectly with a unit J/J librarian Corie Siena had planned on voting. We would like to thank Ms. Siena for integrating the vote into her lesson plan! The students overwhelmingly chose the graffiti theme (click here for results). All other details of the book will be kept under wraps.

Getting artsy at Robinson! The Robinson Yearbook Committee enlisted the help of the art teachers to help with this year's theme! Mrs. Hansen and Ms. Libby's 2nd-grade classes created doodles that will be integrated into the cover design. We can't wait for you to see the finished product in June.

Yearbook Sales. Yearbook sales at both schools will begin in mid-to-late January. Make sure you buy a copy. Be on the lookout for sales updates in the new year!

Get Involved with MESA!

MESA needs your help! We know a lot of parents work (in fact, EVERY member of the board has a full-time job), but there are still plenty of ways to get involved during the year. Email info@mesa4parents.org and let us know you want to help out.

Here are a few of the the volunteer opportunities we are actively looking to fill:

Enrichment Program Coordinators

We would like a couple of volunteers who can help to coordinate enrichment nights. We are looking into planning Science/STEM nights in January/February for both schools and possibly an enrichment event in the spring. Volunteers will work with the MESA Board and the school principals to coordinate and book the programs. If you're interested, please reach out to Akanksha Joshi at jj@mesa4parents.org.

J/J Yearbook Photographers

Yearbook photography is fun and easy. The Robinson Yearbook Committee is requesting a few additional volunteers to take candid photos over the next few months. If you are interested in taking photos, please email robinsonyearbook1@gmail.com or jjyearbook1@gmail.com.

Book Fair & Book Worms Committee

We are looking for volunteers to join our Book Fair & Book Worms Committee. We especially need people to help with the J/J committee. Volunteers will help with planning the annual Scholastic Book Fairs and Book Worms events. Please email info@mesa4parents.org if you're interested in helping out!

MESA 2023-23 Open Meeting Schedule

We are always looking for help, new ideas and involvement!
