ITEMS NEEDED FOR J/J TEACHER APPRECIATION DINNER ON THURSDAY
A few items are still needed for the J/J Teacher Appreciation Dinner on Thursday, December 8. This is the first time since the pandemic began that we're able to host our traditional meal for teachers during parent-teacher conferences. Thursday is a long day for teachers with day and evening conferences. This dinner gives them a nice little break.
.
We are looking for donations of side items, beverages, centerpieces and paper products. We also need a few people to help with setup and cleanup (we just added those slots to the SignUp Genius). Please click the button below for more information and to sign up.

Jordan/Jackson Book Fair
December 5 to December 9
J/J Multi-Purpose Room
|
The Jordan/Jackson book fair starts today! Students will visit the book fair with their classes. Families can shop during parent-teacher conferences on Thursday (Dismissal to 8pm) and Friday (Dismissal to 2pm). Be sure to check out the books your classroom teachers have placed in their wish bins!
Book fair proceeds will be used to purchase books and technology updates for students & the schools.
Below you will find information about volunteering at the fair, setting up your eWallet, and donating to MESA's eWallet Giving Fund.
|
|
PLEASE NOTE AN IMPORTANT CHANGE FROM PREVIOUS YEARS: Tax will be added to purchases this year. To make it easier for the students, please add funds to cover tax on the amount you’d like them to spend. MA state sales tax is 6.25%. (For example: $20 = $21.25, $40 = $42.50, $50 = 53.13)
|

Volunteer at the Fair!
There are many opportunities still available to volunteer at the J/J book fair. Volunteers are key to ensuring the book fairs run smoothly. We need help with setup and cleanup. We also need help to staff the fair during class visits and Open to the Public hours. Children are welcome when you volunteer!

|
Make sure you have a valid CORI on file!

Set Up Your eWallet Today!
|
An eWallet is a safe, cashless way for students to shop at the book fair. Simply use the link below to fund your student's eWallet before the fair. Anyone can add money to the account, so share the link with relatives.
Please Note: Robinson eWallets CANNOT be used at the J/J book fair. You much create a separate eWallet for the J/J fair.
After the fair, your remaining eWallet balance becomes a gift card to shop online with Scholastic or to fund a future eWallet.

MESA's eWallet Giving Fund
|
|
|
Due to its overwhelming success last year, MESA’S Scholastic Book Fair eWallet Giving Fund is back!!! This is a way many of our families can give back by contributing where there may be a need.
Each book fair will have an eWallet account to be utilized at the discretion of the teachers and the volunteer chairs. Any amount left in the account at the end of the fair will be treated like Scholastic Dollars, and used in the same manner: Scholastic Dollars fund programs like Bookworms and One Book One Grade, and they also cover purchases for each teacher’s classroom library.
Please click on the button if you would like to contribute:

Thank you to everyone who made the Robinson Teacher Appreciation Dinner a success last week. The decorative banner was made just for the dinner by students in the CHAMPS program. Hot food from Antonia’s was provided courtesy of MESA. Everything else was generously donated by our MESA community: from salads to dinner rolls to desserts, paper goods, and beverages! Thank you all for the donations and to all our volunteers! It was truly a group effort to support our teachers and staff during a very long day.

Join the MESA Board
MESA needs volunteers to fill two board positions
|
-
VP for J/J - Our current VP had to step down unexpectedly. This position coordinates directly with the principals at Jordan/Jackson on MESA programming and events.
-
Accounts Payable Treasurer - MESA is looking for a new treasurer to join the board for the 2023-24 school year. It may seem early, but identifying a treasurer now will give the person time to learn the ropes from our current treasurers.
|
|
MESA is the non-profit parent organization of the Robinson and Jordan/Jackson elementary schools. We facilitate fundraising, enrichment, and community building fun for our schools and students.
We are always looking for help, new ideas and involvement!
